There has been rumors circulating but it's been confirmed by corporate. Layoffs to take place within a 3 month span. Lets hope it only affects those with poor numbers and not by territory.

I heard the same rumor.... The only difference was that it involved a parapaligic South American circus midget who breathes fire and goat-boy..... Lets all hope that they can safely remove the severed goat-horn without to much anesthetia. Thoughts and prayers..
 






gosh i hope not! circuit city has gone out of business and best buy is on the same track. We dont qualify to sell anything else. still hope i guess used cars or a nv brothels

Are you retarded? They just hired a bunch of the contract sales force as employees at Forest. There's no layoffs coming in the near future for at least a year. If the COPD products and Linzess all do really bad (which the trend is they're currently doing well) over the next year then it would be a possibility. Enough with layoff rumors, it's ridiculous.

nah, don't panic. it's all about pizza delivery these days. we all know the streets in our territory and how to deliver food. with those skills we can negotiate upwards of 8.75 an hour.

RETARDED would be a word used to describe one who thinks the COPD & GI divisions here can actually compete with real pharma. A big hiring is absolutely no indication of how the company is doing, it’s called RETARDED management.
 






Well there has been no rumor of layoff on here in 3-6 months. It's time for the insider from corporate to come on here and warn us out of the goodness of his or her heart.
 






There will be no layoffs in the near future. How could they justify laying people off to the shareholders when everything is about the revenue of "the next nine"? If there's layoffs within the next year it would destroy investor confidence and actually hurt the company more. I agree that when some companies have layoffs it's actually better for the stock and it reduces overhead but not in the case. It would show investors that we can't ever replace the revenue of Lexapro by diversifying the product line with the "the next nine" in multiple disease states. If the companies strategy with replacing Lexapro revenue was dependent on one or two more blockbusters then a sales force reduction would be justifiable to the investors and help the stock. That's not the case here.
 






This company may have just brought on more reps and are launching 2 new drugs per year for four years... blah blah blah. The fact is all these new drugs wont amount to shit. Turdorza, Daliresp, Viibryd, Savella, Teflaro, the 15th Atypical to market, a once a day NAmenda for pts who are already taking a cocktail of pills multiple times a day... These drugs are fucking dogs and will by no means make up for the revenue that they are losing with Lexapro and Namenda going generic. Wait maybe a bystolic combo pill will save forest. Forest will eventually either get bought out or cut reps once these 'launches' all fail.

Agreed. However, it's going to take at least a year for all that to happen and for shit to hit the fan. So my point is I don't see layoffs as a viable option in the near future for at least another year or so.

Who at 'corporate' confirmed this? Could it happen? Sure. Will it? Doubtful. Someone comes on here saying the same thing once or twice a year. It's never true. Someone always knows someone from 'corporate'. After over 10 years watching this board, I would say the 'P Value' on this prediction being correct when all the others have been false is pretty soft.
