Layoffs before April 2??

<

April 2nd is the target date. They did leave the door open that if all the legal paperwork was complete they would consider earlier but I believe they would give us a heads up if that is the case.

By law there has to be a heads up! Its called WARN

Not exactly, the Warn Act simply gives you 60 days once you are notified. If this goes down anything like last time, and the current notification date estimate is correct, managers would either be notified of their situation on Friday, March 30th, or the morning of April 2nd. They will then make calls to the reps that morning or afternoon (April 2nd), depending upon when they are told.

However if Novartis has all their ducks in a row ahead of time, notifications could be moved up by perhaps as much as a week. Regardless of when you are notified you are gone, you will still get your 60 days of pay after that in compliance with the Warn Act. Your severence period starts after you come out from under the Warn Act. In effect the Warn Act gives you another 8.5 weeks of severence pay.

Well, like I said, WARN is the "HEADS-UP". Weather they tell you not to do your job, or not, you are still a fulltime Novartis employee during the WARN period. If they pay you for two months, and tell you to stay home, what do you care. Im not sure why you felt to state the obvious.
