Layoffs after Novo’s in October

Our layoffs will be coming sooner than later after novo’s in October. Be real, primary care, speciality and all will be effected. No company needs multiple reps calling on the same physicians. We are now in a different world and doctors will continue to do telemedicine for at least another year..if not, forever as insurances are reimbursing the same amount. WAKE UP.!

Agree, while it may be difficult it is now time to move on from Pharma. For those that have been around for many years, congratulations on your financial achievement and career. For those that are newer to the industry, the industry is no more.

Chicken Little, the job is going to exist with some different parameters that will actually make the job better than it is today. Yeah you won’t have multiple reps calling on the same day, that’s a plus right there. Additionally reps will use multiple channels including personal selling to influence their accounts, and the development and acceptance of improved virtual sales call formats will continue to expand. Savvy and nimble reps will be able to prosper in this evolving environment.

Do I think there will be layoffs? Yes

Do I think they will be this year? No

Why? Because high does Trulicity launch is crucial

When do I think layoffs will be announced? Probably February (use us through the end of the year, then push us hard in January). Then BAM, layoffs. Nothing like a "thank you for working so hard" than a nice round of layoffs.

What about Novo's layoffs? Very sad and unfortunate for those people. They all have families to support. But we will be next.

Word from Indy is one rep per territory for specialty and primary care. They will slowly rehire as the offices open up again next year. Good luck all. Polish up those resumes.

I work in a low/no access state (MN). I’ve been trying to justify my job for years. Bring on the packages.

I’m surprised Lilly hasn’t proactively offered a reduced work hours option like 60% or 80% based on territory needs or personal circumstances. Some reps are actually trying to work all day long and have a large group of customers closed to reps virtually and in person. Plus they have work/life balance needs that Lilly claims to care so much about. Many would be happy with 60-80% of salary and 1-2 free days a week back.

There’s also an Alliance contract. BI just made cuts. New indication(s) coming for Empa. We cut too much with what we have in our bag and pipeline, it will be a mistake like when we walked away from diabetes before. Would rather be in DBU than any other unit.

Pretty sure alliance was for 10 years and it started in 2011.....

They should access layoffs based on reps earning their salary and bonus. Reps not even earning their company car or salaries. No more box checking with bs activities that clearly do not generate revenue. Get rid of the countless positions that are needless and repetitive and not generating revenue. PC, excess specialty, NFCs acting as glorified reps.

Amen to that
