if i was running AZ the reductions would have taken place in the summer when it was clear things were going downhill. They still can't figure out what the future holds. Truth be told, come january at the managers' meetings they will get the speech from the big dogs about rightsizing and the need to be lean.
the sad thing is all those managers will be forced to decide who stays and goes with the company's making the call. Once the managers execute the plan, then they too find out their fate. It's a very cold and hard fact that many that send us off, will in turn also get taken out.
when its all said and done, nobody wins, the ones departed obviously hurt the most, but those remaining are fully aware they are the next in line and without any big surprise and 2013 managed care plans changing to the gov't its just a matter of time.
