For the people who got on the Merck train from Schering Plough, will we get off with the sevance package, if so let it happen NOW so plan B can take place. With SP you felt part of a sales company. Merck, not so much, riding Singular scripts is not sales, it's a free pass. That why layoffs are in the horizon. Now just let the packages come to the SP group and let's move on. While "mother"--- such BS, implodes mothers help and lead. Merck/mother just eats her own!

The SP people are in prayer that it comes. 6 months sevrance, health care, unemployement, stock options, and bonus in March. It will be the best Christmas in years!!

Come on Ken, stop screwing people, your modivation, leadership, emails and stage preformance really are only alittle better than Russian roulette. If you set people free, and your bonus still comes your happy and you don't get to bend SP over the barrel.

The worst thing for all involved, even leadership, is to drag this on. Just do it quickly and let us all go. The morale and the uncertainty will just demotivate all of us to the point of low productivity.

And yes, as a former SP person, the package would rock. Just do it, people. Just do it. You know you're going to.

So what lay offs have already occurred since fraziers announcements ? They have not announced field sales yet, do you think in January ?

The HR website states that severance packages will significantly be reduced starting Jan 1, 2012. That's when Mother will chop your head off. If she can't get you to quit before then, she'll wait and get rid of you as cheaply as possible.

Legacy Merck package changes come 1/1/2012:

WARN period remains 60 days (this is a federal and NJ state requirement, not goodwill)
Base weeks goes down to 4 regardless of band level
Weeks per year of service stays at 2
Maximum weeks is lowered to 52

Any LS-P folks want to share the details of what they'll be losing when this package becomes theirs as well?

As a former Merck rep who was let go, it is the Merck way to give you months of warning that it is coming. For me, this was more miserable than the actual phone call. It was a relief and life is so much better than living year to year, month to month, and wondering how long this would last.

I feel the same way...Despite not having a new job yet, I am so glad to be out of that toxic hellhole...

I am surprised so many people choose to live that way...
