Lawsuit via GeneDx branch

Several lawsuits are going to be brought aginst BRL via the billing and insurance practices of GeneDx's cardiovasular testing group. Current practice of waiving all deductibles and co-pays have raised flags with both State of NY, Illinois and several large insurance plans.

This will have an interesting impact on the billing procedures and reimbursement for the whole company.

I really hope people don't really look to this board for news. Google lawsits v genedx and you find nothing! People post lies , then others copy and paste them as facts. I really wish that cafe parma didn't turn into a forum where companies are bashed and people insulted just because they happen to be successful. I look at some of the posts and just laugh knowing its either made by someone who couldn't make it or is getting beaten in the field by a lab who just happens to do a good job!

Guys, get real. Bio is pretty much a lab version of the gambino crime family. How u get away with the incredibly non compliant things you do is incredible. The lab is not that good...your loyalty from clients comes from under the table gifts, billing write-offs, etc, etc. Give yourselves a reality check....PLEASE!

no...these are just tired old quest and labcorp reps that continue to get their butts kicked. since they obviously couldn't lose business because they are bad reps and their companies have absolutely no vision, the competition must be corrupt. back in the day a few rogue bio reps may have pushed the envelope...no longer. not even close. the science at bio/genpath is as good as it getsyou are just getting beat, get over it. continue making 50k a year and the look forward to the highlight of your career every 3 years when you get to pick out your lame company car. now go rant a response about the mafia blah blah blah. it's all noise - you are just losing !!!!!

As someone who has worked for a few lab over the last 20 years or so, I am saying Bio's billing practices are EXACTLY the same as Quest, LabCorp, ect. All labs are required to bill for deductables and co-pays . Bio follows the same rules!!

This is BS. I was in account last week that told me straight out that BR waives all copays in that office without question. And to this day the BR rep still hands out gift cards in that office.

co pays/deductibles are billed out - that is a fact. the office was just telling you that cause they want you out of their office as quickly as possible because you are a bumbling moron of a rep. they know exactly what to say to get idiotic quest and/or labcorp reps out of their office quickly. go sell pharma..it's where you belong.

FACT: labcorp reps give out gift cards, starbucks, etc etc etc ALL of the time, it is allowed and legal under their compliance dept. stop your whining - you are just an awful rep and need an excuse as to why you cannot close any business.

I actually took your business in this office. MA's and OM hated their BR rep, but they liked the gift cards enough to put up with rep. Doc finally said enough's enough and pulled the plug on BR. So to get back to the copays-OM said BR waived all copays-no exceptions.

Fact BR absolutely does not bill copay's or deductibles. They send 1 bill so it looks like they are billing but NEVER EVER go after the patient for that money. I have had several conversations with dr's who tell me this is the reason they use BR.

This is true, their billing system is not capable of generating 2 bills for the same patient. I know of a client that has a letter from BR that states they will never bill the office or the patient.

As a patient I can tell you this is true. I had the VAP test done every 12 months for the last three years. Every time, my insurance EOB has said I was responsible for something. Once it was for the entire amount, so I protested the EOB and the insurer said the test was not covered (it was not considered medically necessary), no matter what I did they would not pay... GUESS WHAT!!! I never received a bill from BL NEVER. Then the next year I had a $169.00 co-pay, no bill. This year we have a new provider and they consider BL out of network...NO BILL!!!

So hey don’t BS me!! You guys do not bill. I just asked my Cardiologist and he told me that BIO does not Bill his patients, including Medicare.

By the way I am very healthy just have a high LPa.
