What the heck is going on with LabCorp in So.Cal? They are picking up so many IPA contracts at the same old low prices of the 90's.
With local regional labs going down and getting out of their cap contracts, and with Quest raising Cap Rates, KV, why on earth are you bidding the same old low fees. WestCliff didn't make any money, now LabCorp won't. They will get themselves in the same problem that Quest is in ... running large labs with an O.M. below 8%.
They have the perfect opportunity to contract at higher prices, but they are going the easy route and throwing out rates at the same old $0.70-$0.90 pmpm range. You have now picked up over 600 capitated specimens/day at about $10.00 each and with a disgruntled and stressed out and overworked sales team, it will be tough to get the FFS work from those accounts.
