Kyphon

Yes and no. Roy and the RVPs look at the sales dollar size of a territory. Over $1 million they will back fill. Under that generally it will go to either the stim reps or to the spine reps. Kyphon is the last thing on their minds. In RTG, it is all about Spine. Omar is not putting any money into the space. OsteoCool brings in less than $11mil nationally. Optisphere is the re-branded Vascular Solution product that was shelved and not being distributed. Total joke. These are not the blockbuster product that will save this division. My guess is another RIF is coming in June. The last RIF happened to territories under $800,000.

Interesting. Probably the right move after spending 3.9 billion... cut the losses and move on. SYK is investing and will take over the space over time.

Omar has written this purchase off along time ago. There are still great reps here but more are leaving everyday. Reps are tired of the lack of leadership and decreasing pay. Basically, Medtronic is turning into another JnJ. Time will tell with Stryker.

What do you mean by turning into another JnJ?

Who is NOT quitting after SpineJack migrates into aorta another dozen times??? These dumb IRs are crazy, idolizing an over-marketed expandable cage with 6Ga bi-pedicular access, with no patient follow-up.

I can feel your MDT territory dying through my screen. Only thing migrating is that runny ass cement Medtronic pushes. How does it feel working for a company that is on record as saying their purchase of your product is one of the worst acquisitions and overpayments in Med device history? Writing is on the wall………

How is morale in this division? Is it true that the expectation is for them to cover every single case? Seems unrealistic. Why not have clinical specialists do the majority of case coverage?
