You guys better think 2x about pursuing job:

1. Company no pipeline
2. If Gout drug mildly successfull 200 mill + then might be bought by BIG PHARMA
3. Do you want to be at Pfizer, GSK, etc...chances are high
4. Base pay not great top out at 90k
5. Bonus at 35K with HIGH OBJECTIVES, probably 80% will not hit objectives 1st 6 mos
6. If you dont have a call you need to buy one, car reimbursement only, large territories
7. Sales management stinks

I'm sure you get the hint from this point forward, just due your homework...if you hate your company and just want peace of mind then so be it. But the stress level here for expectations of the drug will be horrible, micromanagement galore going on from the start....
No thank you!!

I would have to agree on this. The micro will be severe, and bonus will be a big question mark, Savient has a piss pour rep for management and this will turn a lot of the talented reps off and be a deal breaker for the most sought after by the Rbd's as it should be. The coverage will be horrible expensive. I really thought they would have been able to contract out the sales and marketing to an experienced co promoter and partner. This is surprising that Savient is now trying to take on this monster, but no other companies wanted to play ball and that was clear in the 10Q SEC update and many investors are speculative about Savient's plan for having to scramble and put together a sales force without the partnership. The overall opinion from investors and experts is this is a big clusterfuck and the inability to farm out the sales and marketing to an experienced outfit is a big frown down by the street. The coroporat conf. call and update was very very revealing and negative. Due your homework on this one.

There is more speculation in the first post than facts. The fact is no one knows what it will be like to work as a rep at Savient. Anyone who works in this business understands that job satisfaction pretty much starts with your direct manager.

No doubt this company doesn't want to be around for any length of time as an independent organization, but who knows when and by whom they will be bought. Sometimes buyouts work out great. I've been through 2. One sucked, the other was not bad at all.

And yes, due to the current job market, some people are that desperate to find a 150k job with a car allowance and good benefits. Duh.

Not desperate, as I have walked away from other opportunities that simply would have made sense from a cultural standpoint. Question- just sent in my resume for a DM position, as I launched Uloric at Takeda and unfortunately was downsized with 1,200 of my best friends. Krystexxa would be the third option after allopurinol and a Uloric-type medicine. This product will have niche though. Challenge! Coverage as usual.

That aside, the patients this brand will serve are so compromised they will have little choice but to consider the quality of life it could bring.

So, back to DMs- are they mostly rookies here at Savient with no "emotional intelligence" or is it a mixed bag?

Thanks in advance.

Actually, there are still a couple of manager spots open. One is in the NE and I'm not sure of the other. Leaders Inc. out of Florida.

Thank you to the 2 above posters. The RBD comment makes sense. I would imagine that the geographic span is significant.

I happen to live in the Northeast and maybe I could bring some value to the organization.

for reps 115-125K//bonus 30-40K CHECK WITH LEADERSINC

This is grossly over blown, mid 80-90's. There are so many unemployed reps to choose from they will go with the cheapest possible and most naive. This is a temp job at best and the recruiters are dragging their feet as the directives from the board change daily. I wouldn't be holding out for anything at this joint with this leadership. Simply a heads up from someone who knows this group of mooks.

Who is the leadership? Temp job explain more? Who is the RBD in the NE and SE? Why won't you work for this company? I think it's just talk on this board NO real facts. Use initials of the people and previous company. Are they going to hire everyone and then lay them off?? Provide more facts

Heck either one of those salaries will help supplement my other pharm sales job. 2 jobs, 2 different products, 2 different diseases= $200+ base & 100+ bonus
Not bad, not bad at all.
And I'll be working no more than 6 hrs day doing both.
At first I'll concentrate launching this drug but after a few months will be easy
doing both.

Grounds for termination. A couple folks got let go from Abbott for doing this. Try and lose both jobs. These companies will check your company you are leaving. Its very simple
