The dpp-4 market will play just like, statins,arbs/ace, ostroporosis etc. merck was in a big huury to get it first to market. we spend all the time educating the market then a smart competitor comes along with the same thing in class and undercuts merck on efficacy,price,dosing or all three, and destroys mercks market share. Oh well januvia had almost a three year run, was way overpriced but pulled in almost, what? a billion. Now merck will just move on to the next big thing. errr, what and when will that be?

So why has $4 extended release metformin been on the market for years and almost nobody writes any of it? Wasn't it Glucophage XR that made everyone's belly hurt?
