I can honestly say that I have been on the WC "amusement ride" and glad to be off. It is hard when you get the "we no longer need you call" after years of successful performance. It was hard not to take it personal, but I moved on and found a better job and company quicker than I could have imagined. The key is to get your affairs in order and prepare for the worst. Begin to prepare the family that this could happen and above all don't think for a minute that you can sell your way out of your current situation. Spend your time networking with physicians and staff explaining your circumstances. Talk with other representatives and make it happen versus letting it happen to you. Most importantly, let the hate and anger go...RB & AB and the crew will get their just due. Karma=wait and see the misery this leads to someday for these screwed up people.

Very well put and true. As someone once with a big pharma company and survived 4 layoffs then got the call on the 5th, that was spot on. All anyone can do is prepare for the worst, start net working and using connections, make sure you prepare and have savings set aside to get by in case you don't land a job right away, and be open and honest with your family. At some point it is inevitable, but just be as prepared as you can be.

I agree with both of you...

The BAD: I finished in the top 20...AGAIN for one of our products. After 2 years (3 weeks before a $12000 bonus) I get the call 'citing performance reasons'! By the way, I have an email saying I was the #1 rep on the team for both products...so RB and AB do not bother me but ST sure as heck does. My manager stated that I was on ST's 'arbitrary list for arbitrary reason'...these people have known for a while.

The Good:I received a job offer immediately and got an $11K raise by switching companies. So, I have let it go. WC gave me great relationships and a great 'start' to my career. Thank you...I guess.

executives working w consultants to right size the field and management. plan on half the management and 450-500 reps

What executives? Warner Chilcott executives don't even matter any more, they have NO say in the matter. Clearly your post is pure guess work, but I will bite. There are currenty about 700 territories, many of which are vacant, and without a doubt many more will be vacant before we are absorbed into Actavis. In fact, with our attrition rate of 30%+ annually, we propbably wont even have 500 reps when the projected layoffs begin., but lets say we do. Do you believe that 80% of all WC sales reps will be laid off?

Your post is just plain ridiculous, and sound just as crazy as the guy who keeps saying there will be NO layoffs, or the guy who says that there will be layoffs, but WC reps will be kept while Actavis reps will be laid off.

THe fact is there will be layoffs at WC; but who knows how many. None of us even knows how many reps Actavis has. Just prepare for the worst and pray for the best.

Spot on. This is where the $400million in operational "synergies" will come from - the field force on the WC side. It will be bloody to say the least. Too back you have WC on your resume. You'll be treated like a leper in pharma if you were there more than a few years.

Please can the Watson Charlotte, NC manager. He is no good and a liability.

That would be better suited to be written on the Watson board as they are going to be doing the hiring and firing, not WC. However, have heard a lot of horrible things about the NC manager. What's going on down there with him?

You should make a point to meet him for yourself and you'll figure it out. He discriminates against anyone who is not like him, so women and anyone else unlike him. He has no clue what he is doing, so he manages by fear. His customers cannot stand him because either his reps have told them about him or they have met him. I just hope the reps have another manager because it would be a better business decision and employees will be happier, which means greater productivity.

Hang in there and I hope the best are able to keep their jobs!
