I worked many years with one of the big pharmaceutical but I got laid off. I saw advertised a job opportunity for a KAM. Can anyone please describe a typical day? Thanks

I got the boot and went to work for Labcorp from Pharma. Not a good career choice. Like you, I needed a job. I did not like it. You drive around all day and get your ass kicked and threatened by accounts. Pass

If you don't have a job, then take it but it's a s... job. The whole day is passed in apologizing to clients for no fault of yours. Missed pick-ups, tests not performed, Quantity not sufficient, pricing, credits, you name it! I would advise, look for something better. This is not a sales job. The main function of the job is 'kiss the ass'

Oh.. So, you mean it is tougher than catering lunches, being a fed ex guy delivering samples and kissing butt so the staff will let you talk to the doc? Was that nothing more than a job? At least your busy at LabCorp... Pay is similar and the stability is much much better. But it is a hard job but rewarding

For those who know the business, it is a rewarding career. You sound like White Castle material.
