Justice finally - maybe?

She had a hare trigger.

We shall see. It looks like it’s entirely appropriate to have her charged and tried. I see the prosecution having a tough time with the motive though.

At this point it looks like a terrible accident. Now she still might have some criminal liability but it’s a long way from murder one at this point.

It is? what would you call it?

They intentionally overcharged just like the Skittles case. They will never get Murder 1 (IMO) but if given an option by the judge may get manslaughter. That
's what they want, she loses her job and does a token in jail. Careless and negligent for sure If he were white and she were black it might be a different story. If it were 100 years ago someone would be swinging from a tree. Just sayin'.

There’s always murder 2. Should get life, which would mean death. Cops don’t last long in jail.

Most likely a tragic mistake compounded by very poor decision making on the part of the dead guy. If he had complied he’d probably be alive today and being in his own home is irrelevant. Somebody has a gun on you, you comply. Period!

Yep, in that state you have no freedom in your own home. Good comment Buckwheat!

The state is irrelevant, Spanky!

If you want to live you comply when someone has a gun and you don’t.
It’s common sense. I don’t expect you to get it.:rolleyes:

It was dark, he had even been asleep and probably was just waking up, it was his own home. If she couldn't see that he had no gun, how could he see that she had one? She is white, he is (was) black. Murder 1.

You’re all over the place and absolutely absurd. There’s no way it’s even remotely murder 1. Involuntary manslaughter at worst.

The fact that it was his own home is irrelevant. If she couldn’t see that he had no gun, then she couldn’t see that he was black, so there goes your racial angle that you’re so fixated on.

Race had nothing to do with it. The fact that he was in his own home has nothing to do with it. If someone gives you relatively innocuous commands who might have a gun on you, common sense dictates that you comply. If the guy had, he would probably be alive today. Not that he did anything wrong. He seems to have been a terrific young man but he made an unwise choice in a situation that appears to be a tragic yet innocent mistake and that poor judgement cost him his life. Sad but doesn’t mean anything close to murder 1 for the woman cop. Bad judgement on her part too, but no malice and since she has the gun, her bad judgement didn’t cost her her life.
