Valeant info...

3wks vaca, the week btw Christmas and Nye we get off (WITHOUT using vacation)
The 401k is nowhere near as good as yours it's average at best, the other benefits are ok.
The technology is awful, we are hoping to acquire yours as you have iPads and we do not and our data system is severely lacking we would kill to have yours.
Bonus is 48k at plan, salaries are probably about the same maybe a little higher... mid to high 80s (coming here I got a 10k bump and I was already in eye care)
We don't have platinum or presidents club, they took it away last year in order to save money...he's supposed to do something for us but that remains yet to be seen

There are also no levels...senior, executive etc. We are all the same title. Hopefully your company will give you that level before the changes roll out so you can get the pay bump

No platinum and sr etc titles ok since b and l is fraudulent, and gives trips and titles to their friends. This is great for all the reps who received unwarranted of either one or both.

I am sure if its unlikely, but would be nice if they bumped our salaries to be more in line with what Val pays...many reps are not in the 80s, more like 60s and 70s. Do they ever change salaries once they take over a company?

Yeah, if you are required to do the same amount of work they are doing. Why does everyone automatically think the jobs are the same? They call on both general ophthalmology and retina docs for four different products and one two are buy and bill. It's just not like the usual pharma job. Many have worked in ophthalmology for some time and consider this job kind of a promotion. If you look at many buy and bill Pharma jobs, they make even more than Valeant because it's not like writing a script; there are a lot more moving pieces to the puzzle.

This argument was already had in another thread. No real difference between the roles. Both are overpaid for what the job is these days.

Look at the annual revenues of each unit to determine who should be paid more.

What's the annual revenue of valeants ophthalmic team?

B&Ls was probably like 150 Million last year. Is that about right? For just Branded RX.

Your solution makes no sense because there are many, many more reps at B&L compared to Valeant's Ophthalmics division, so of course there will be more revenue. Bottom line is the roles are different with different criteria so they can't be compared when it comes to salary. And, yes it's the same argument because people posting the same question ... The answer will not change because it was asked in a different way!

I meant to say, people keep asking the same question...

You could cut B&Ls sales force to 1/3 rd of current and the Rx revenue would remain stable. So your satement is kind of invalid.

Not sure of valeant ophthalmic head count but BL put up 100million with LE brands with only 30 reps in 2007.

30 reps is light. about 50 is the right number for B&L rx, in my opinion. If I was in charge that would be the head count with 4 managers and no directors. 1 manager for 12 reps because they don't need to babysit reps in the field every day to watch them get signatures with the occasional core message.

4 managers reporting to VP or director or whoever is the 1 in charge reporting to higher up. That's all Rx needs in my opinion

Same thing is true with surgical. If we're lucky, we'll get sold off, if we're less than lucky, someone will clean house and expect the sales force to begin performing. Those rotten "I'm in the platinum club" bastards stopped performing 24 months ago. We've got plants all over the the planet capable of providing surgical product within 48 hours. Ain't a sales or marketing weasel on the payroll capable of keeping up with capacity. They've been skimming off the top, suckling from the teat for too long. If you can't close, you gotta go dude. Need revenue to feed the pipeline and need Regulatory and Quality to to support the profit model.

So...valeant gives its employees the week btw Christmas and Nye off ON TOP of the three weeks vacation and four personal days. Does that mean we will get it off? Our will we have to take vacation...?
