This place has provided a great life outside of work and you all shit on it mercifully. Ha! It’s amazing your perception of “older geezers” I am a hard working “older Geezer” that puts in a full day of work and then some! I am very appreciative of this job! You must be one of those millennial managers that wants to get rid of anyone over 40! By the way, there are hard working reps of all ages, just like there are lazy ass reps of all ages! Lilly just wants to get rid of reps over 40 and they are given that direction by the higher ups!

This post is good. First off a lot of people don’t double dip. Some do. Second Lilly does not value you at all regardless of age. When you become expendable you will be gone. When you get some experience, you will leave, to make more money. You know that Lilly will never make you a counter offer? They just don’t care enough they will hire some people cheaper next time, just as you are now.

3rd, and this is a biggie....I have taken many shits in my day, we all have. If I have taken a shit on this job at Lilly it has been unmercifully and mostly loose and watery. Proofread your post dummy.
 






Agree with last post. Lilly doesn’t care. I’ve seen people going and old give everything. Lilly promises them opportunities here and there. In Indy, in the field, etc. and when lilly decides to make a change, they don’t care about the effort these people put in. They are gone in an instant. This company is not the same company it was years ago.
 












I am one of those that double dips, and I am being 100% truthful. I wish it wouldn't have taken me this long to figure this out. I am field based rep who has been around for some time now. The above posters are absolutely correct. Lilly does not care about your future, your skills, or your job.

If you are not doing something one the side right now to further your income, skills, networking, etc you're an absolute fool. Remember 2 years ago when all the layoffs happened? Those reps that were let go were blindsided by the news. With one single phone call, their career at Lilly was over. All the stupid awards, leadership roles, drive time, working extra hours on the stupid projects we do....none of that mattered!! I remember them telling those reps who didn't make the cut, "make sure to work all the way up until the last day." Yeah oooookkkkaayyyyyy. All of us are completely expendable and I refuse to be blindsided by the next round of layoffs. Look at Ozempic right now, they are crushing it! It's just a matter of time folks before that next phone call happens. Will you be prepared?

Be an Uber driver with your Lilly Equinox! LOL.

I've know people in this industry who have double-dipped for years with undetected success. Key is to find another pharma job that is in your same, or similar territory, and that offers a car allowance so you can use your Lilly fleet vehicle. Even with Truce you should be fine because you are in the same geographical area, and if your out working and your vehicle is moving, you should be fine. Of course, you would make sure your second job doesn't call on the same doctors or specialty as your Lilly job. You'll need to be careful to take your vacation days from each company when you go off for meetings with the other company, but also swap out your car and marketing materials when the manager from your company rides with you. Plan it carefully and it'll work!
