In last year of college and I am extremely interested in working for Intuitive Surgical. Business major and would like to go into sales eventually. Does anybody on here know if ISRG offers any internships that have to do with sales or associate sales roles? ANY advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dude, you're totally qualified. Go for it.

Some companies offer marketing associate positions for people right out of college. More realistic path is to get b2b sales experience (copiers, telecom, ect.) and after a few years of being in the top 10% make the jump into med device. Often times as an associate rep learning from an experienced rep and hoping for the opportunity to get your own territory. After a few years of that maybe you can jump on board with ISRG

You would have a good shot considering who this company has been resorting to hire based on their piss poor reputation as an employer. If I get contacted by one more recruiter for this company I am going to roll in jelly and jump in a monkey cage

Does anyone know what "expansion" territory means? Will they fire the current rep once the expansion territory is filled? When s next training class? Ay insight is greatly appreciated.

Jesus, what is it with some of you med reps? Your fuc---- salesmen, THATS IT. Yeah, you learned some anatomy and how to kiss surgeons asses, great! Go have a trophy made for yourself. Talking to some of you, its like you think your multi-platinum recording artists that make 10 mill a year. What the fu-- happened to humility? To the other people who replied, thanks for the advice. B2B sales is what I thought would be the route.

You are so right about these boards..I have been in med/surg sales for 10 plus years and I don't know anyone who acts so mean. I think there are just a few reps out there that jump on these boards and say such WT things. I think its great you have goals and ask questions. You will probably be running one of these companies!

Sales is a great profession if you're cut out for it, but I wouldn't recommend surgical device to someone just getting started. I've been at it for over 10 years and the opportunities are not what they used to be. Obamacare isn't even rolling yet, and every device company is already shitting their pants...rightfully so. Intuitive has been amazingly immune to a lot of the challenges in the market. Kudos to them, but it won't last.

The guys I know selling software or financial services seem to be killing it. I don't see that changing. Good luck.

LAST POSTER, is there anyway I can get an email address to contact you? You seem like you have a lot of insight on this field and I would love to pick your brain. If you do not feel comfortable posting an email address, I will post a fugazzi email address for you. That way you can shoot me your email. Thanks.
