Julie in Nashville and your NAPRx degree

Does this person exist???
Saw that she only got a job in Pharmaceuticals by the classes she took and the certification with NAPRx-

That is the most bogus company alive.....come on! What is it that NAPRx did for you??? No manager asks if you have that certificate to practice "pharmaceutical sales"

The Claim-

Pharmaceutical companies look at applicants who have a combination of sales ability/experience and a medical/pharmacology education. It is important to include both types of skills on your resume. The NAPRx® (CNPR® Program) provides training in clinical pharmacology, pharmaceutical selling rules, regulations, drug distribution channels, therapeutic drug classes, pharmacokinetics, selling techniques etc.

Thank god I found the CNPR program. I have been looking to get into pharmaceutical sales and only did when I completed your program. I just accepted an offer with Forest Pharmaceuticals."

Bet Julie doesn't exist!!!!

I took the CNPR Certification program. They did exactly what was promised though. Cant really complain. Yea I still had to look for a job after but at least it got me the looks I needed. Yea it cant guarantee you a job but at the end of the day its just education. I always see people trying to blog negatively about something they have never tried, but thats what freedoms are all about lol.

the company hires you, not your degree

this is a scam, not necessary to get a pharma gig

bigger challenge is competing with all the tenured, laid off reps applying for the same jobs you are

true, I once asked a hiring manager their thoughts on NAPRx and replied " we have our training class, and will train the right people.", They didn't care if someone had a cert on NAPRX. They rather hire someone with some solid B2B experience than a piece of paper that states I finished NAPRX.

Arent all the older reps having a hard time finding positions because companies find it more cost effective to hire a newbie?

So why wouldnt one get the training on their own to show initiative?
Wouldnt that look better to an employer to have the knowledge?
Not knocking B2B. I also feel like showing an ability to sell is a huge positive, but shouldnt you also have at least some pharma/medical know how?

It seems logical being that most positions (no matter what field) want you to actually know something before you show up for an interview. (which is why colleges are in business)

I took the CNPR...no complaints, but its definately not a degree...I was told that a 4 year degree is required and the training is an add-on, to stand out more...honestly I just took it cuz of the testing topics...copy and pasted from members area if needed....hope this helps...
