Where are the Republicans we grew up admiring? Trump has infected GOP with his MAGA virus. In the 2022 midterm elections, where Republicans underperformed, super PACs backed by Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell were forced to spend hundreds of millions boosting problematic candidates like Herschel Walker, who Trump endorsed. That loss eventually cost the GOP the Senate. All the while, Trump sat back and spent little of his own political bank to fix his own mistakes.

This ties back to a common theme: Trump genuinely does not care about GOP success, only that he remains the figurehead of the party.
 






He's got the whole party by the balls. With weaklings like McConnell and Graham around, Trump was able to take over. I would love to know what my Republican parents would have thought about this takeover.
