Jeter is a great player and a dead-lock cinch hall of famer. Would we have all of this media navel-gazing if he had played in Cleveland or Detroit? I seriously doubt it. No one outside of New York gives a flying fuck about the Yankees.

Jeter is currently an average shortstop who wouldn't start on most teams.

That being said, he is a cinch hall of famer and has had a great career, but his best years are clearly behind him.

If assholes could fly, Yankee Stadium would be an airport.
