JCL acting like

The president, ceo and accomplished organic chemist (just look at uspto.gov for all of his discoveries) had the following words: "Indeed, encouraging medical innovation needs to be a key purpose of health care reforms in both the United States and the United Kingdom," Lechleiter said. "We must continually make the case for innovation through our words, but more importantly, through our actions and the value we bring to patients through innovative medicines."

Long story short: The federal government needs to spend billions to fund research like they did just prior to Lilly's "discovery" of SSRIs (which was based on US-funded, Noble laureate research). YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK to fund the inadequacies of Lilly execs.

We must liken JCL to the mid-19th century "child king" Ludwig II, who ascended to the Bavarian throne at age 18. Ludwig had such grandiose ideas of himself and such narcissism that he bankrupted the public treasury with projects such as building a replica of the Palace of Versailles, down to the Hall of Mirrors. Likewise, we have in JCL essentially a highly destructive child CEO, someone who has never fully molted and grown into an adult. He's acting as though he is still a teenager trying to get even with the parents who gave him a sense of Appalachian self-entitlement at the expense of logic, rationality and the people for whom his position demands fiduciary responsibility.
