Heard at eye meeting that merck is one that put B&L sale in motion. Told warburg they wanted to buy pharma products. warburg opened up bids to try and drive up price. That's one exec talking to an another exec at another company in a semi private area. Merck wants to take products. If they do that's bad news for sales force. sorry. They have a full squad.

could be BS. could be a real conversation. Based on looks and accessories of guys talking definitely not reps, senior leadership for sure. This was yesterday after meeting at nearby hotel. For what it is worth.

Yep just the pharma products. Anyone that is currently working in pharma is toast. Merck will keep none of you. Slim chance you get to move to New Jersey.
 






Merck wants all divisions not just Pharma.

But even if they just wanted Pharma, it's not a given that the sales force is out. Regardless of who acquires B+L, it's gonna go down like the ISTA acquisition with regard to the sales force. Retention will be based on performance, territory alignment/geography needs, etc. from both sales forces.

I suppose Merck could pull people from their primary care sales force to put in Ophthalmology positions to cover all of the new products that would be added to the existing reps' bag but that's unlikely.

The biggest player in all of it and the one that determines who stays and who goes?
