I have the solution for the "problems" in the South Zone!! Ready?
Having nice hair and using fancy business terms while speaking to groups is not a bad thing. What is a bad thing is when the meetings are over, the facade comes down and the real manager is revealed. It is incredibly naive to think that the one on one encounters ("tough conversations" as it is called in the SZ) are not shared with nearly everyone in the zone. It is understood that having difficult conversations is a natural part of doing business. What isn't understood is the fact that these "tough conversations" are often degrading and pertain to matters that are completely out of the hands of the Representative (ie low market share due to lack of access to our drugs). You can degrade and fire 10 reps but it still will not fix the problem.
Solution: fix your hair up real nice, practice those fancy business school words then go to the Medicaid meetings and private insurance meetings and convince them to put our meds on formulary. Once they are, and if the reps still don't perform then by all means engage in one of those "tough conversations". If you can't convince them to put it on formulary, then thank the Rep for getting all they can, then close you cake hole!
Problem solved!! Btw, You're Welcome.
