the smart ones are getting out now…the not so smart ones, are "hanging" on because they are too scared, too old, too lazy, or some other excuse that unmotivated people come up with to kick the can down the road and not face change….

Merck is an ugly toxic place…It ain't going to get any better either…

Remember people…Merck is set up as a money maker for managers…they are set for life…

everyone else…well…umm…not so much…fly away before things get fugly.

FU MERCK!

Actually the smart ones left in 2011 with a much better severance.

Quoted for truth! 2011 was the last of the good packages though the very best ones were the change in control LSP packages available just after the merger.

I was LMRK with 10 years and got just shy of a year's pay as severance, paid out as if I was still employed (monthly), paid for my benefits directly to Fidelity for less than $30/ month (health, dental and life), and got 100% of my 2011 bonus paid in December instead of March. When my friends got their bonuses in March not one of them were paid out at 100%.

They did not let me contribute to 401k or collect the match and they withheld higher taxes on the payments but I got a job before my first separation check came so I basically doubled my salary for a year thanks to that package.

...and as an extra bonus if you left in 2011 you didn't have to suffer 3 more years in that hell hole
