It will be years before another poa/ride along

You better hope not. Because if that’s true, we are all going to be kicked to the curb.
I’d actually be fine with that. I’d take my severance and unemployment benefits right now.
But seriously we have a minimum of 1 more year of coronavirus. Keep in mind it is not up to Takeda when a ride along can happen. It’s when the provider is back in the office and do they allow reps and some suited up monkey that add no value to hover over them while they eat.

DM's will not be in reps cars for at least another year minimum. Takeda could get their ass sued off by a rep who is not comfortable sharing breathing space with their DM inside their car, or meeting them in person for that matter. If the vaccine goes out by next April/May according to CDC, it will be for elderly and health care workers first, and the general public probably by next Fall. Even after the vaccine becomes fully available for everyone sometime in late 2021 (year from now), you have a potential legal issue as an employer whether or not to force anyone to take the vaccine, or make them agree to work closely (DM ride along, or DM tag along in separate cars and walking in offices together) with or without a mask. The new normal will be virtual DM meetings for business strategy, training, and nothing in person until such time as the CDC says COVID19 has been officially eradicated.

Couldn’t agree more with your assessment. Only thing I would add, which deserves equal merit, is that the sales force will look considerably different (in terms of size) as will the role....

Salesforce size is always getting smaller, that's modern pharma. However, you can no longer justify costly DM salaries to manage 10 people or less from a virtual world.

Why do they keep on mentioning in person meetings with managers?! No thanks!!!!
