It is all going to be uphill

It isn't going to be easy with all of the bad press against a CII long acting pure hydrocodone for several reasons, but the most important reason is that the attorneys general are on your heals to get it off the market. You can bet they will also focus on the physicians that prescribe Zohydro and that is not the type of attention medical providers want. An abuse deterrent formulation will help the situation so the first company to accomplish that will fare best. Since Zogenix isn't the only company seeking a long acting abuse deterrent formulation, the company has taken on a huge financial risk.

So did you still take the job? Or did you decline the offer? Just trying to see where people are at...

would not want to take jobs in states: Signing the letter addressed to the FDA are attorneys general from Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, and Washington.

Indiana and Ohio leading way to opioid prescribing law changes

I'm not the OP, but I did take the job. I've been selling in the CII marketplace for 7 1/2 years. All this talk about tamper resistant formulations is all for naught. The FDA held up perdue's fight against non abuse deterrant generics but didn't for Endo's OPANA ER. OER has both TRFs and generic non TRFs on the market, MS ER doesn't have TRF formulations either. The FDA wouldn't have approved it, if they felt this formulation was unsafe. Even with TRFs you can still abuse them and there is the same risk for them as with non TRFs. It comes down to educating drs and making sure they are selecting patients properly!

Unfortunately laws theres law changes happening now for opioid prescription use and up to say 30 attorney generals wanting zohydro er removed off shelves! A rep came in last week askin about pure hydrocodone with slow delivery and I see only market consideration in hospice market. If y'all want to sell in that market if drug remains is only way I see fit for law changes coming?

Addicts are excited for the newest street candy, SINGLE AGENT HYDROCODONE! Vicodine addicts are ecstatic!

I would hope that common sense would prevail and that precautions would be taken to ensure that the ongoing prescription drug epidemic doesn’t continue unabated with another, just-as-powerful synthetic opiate on the market, but I won’t get my hopes too high. Where there’s money to be made, the lives of addicts and potential addicts are often considered collateral damage, and it won’t surprise me to read in this very newspaper future reports of Zohydro addiction and Zohydro-fueled crime taking place right here in Blount County.

Agree. That kind of $hit drives me crazy. Get a dictionary, for crissake!

My physicians are pretty smart. They are fucking MD's. They already don't have a problem with Zohydro and prescribe responsibly as well. Maybe Flint. Michigan will have some problems.
