The IT world pretty much knows the truth about what's going on at Merck, we know the scope and depth of the issues you are having and that the majority of critical systems are still down.
There are very valuable lessons to be learned here for the rest of the IT world, we hope your attempted cover up stops and some of your IT folks publish papers on the spread, identification, and remediation efforts and more importantly - challenges.
From what we have heard, a lot of your problems stemmed from the insane push to cut, streamline and outsource as much as possible, which isn't unique to Merck, but you have an important story to tell coming out of this - use it wisely.
