Honestly, no it is not a good company to work for. There are a lot of negative comments on this board, but unfortunately most have some truth to them. When I started I assumed all the negative posts were bitter ex-employees, but it really is a miserable company to work for. I can't wait for the day I get to give my notice. If you are desperate sure take it, but otherwise stay away.
The only thing I liked about the company was the pay. The bonus/commission structure is the most I've seen in pharma sales. That being said, the rest of the company structure is horrible. Talking with many reps around the country, it seems that ALL DMs are micromanagers. I'm not sure if this is something they are taught or trained in order to be DMs. The other problem is all the dinner MedEds you are required to do each week. Reps are required to have 2 to 3 dinners with doctors every week. This means no family or personal time.
This used to be a decent company to work for and you always knew WC would do the right thing by it's employees. Now it is a different story. We have upper management that does not even live in the US and Regionals trying to make the rules.
Just keep your head down and go. The year will pass one way or the other, just try to make money while everyone else is stewing about what "might" happen.
How hard is it to do two dinners a week? Doesn't take a lot to take your friends out and call it a MedEd, you know. Doesn't even take a great amt of effort to buy dinner for the table sitting next to you at Chilis, or run up a bar bill. It is not that difficult......
