It seems like the Allergan employees, management and major stock holders in Allergan are lining up in opposition to this takeover of Allergan.

1. Employees- know a large number will lose their jobs.

2. Management- know they could lose their jobs or their careers could be dramatically altered.

3. Major Stock holders- Allergan is a viable company in the long run. Chances are in a few years Allergan stock could be way over the offer price per share from Valeant.

4. News Agencies- Cramerica, NY times, etc are giving it negative press.

5. Gov't - has not weighed in yet.

Not looking good.

Valeant will pay $ 50B for Allergan. MP has more space to go, is a no return deal. No one will pay so much for Botox

Don't kid yourself. With the money already in hand for an acquisition, Valeant will go for a smaller target if the Allergan deal fails. This was exactly what happened with B+L. There will be layoffs, Allergan or not.
