is there something wrong with that? As a middle-aged White male, I used to be surprised when I saw any other race at this company, and now we’re wondering why there is representation? I’m just going to roll with the concept that you’re shocked by the representation and you think it’s all a part of a grand scheme to be “diverse” (which consequently means less white males will be hired). And it may be- for the longest time Lilly was white male central. Heck, most of our upper management are still white males (8 of 13 executive committee) and almost all (12 of 13) are white. If we are intentionally trying to be more diverse, then I’m ok with it. We need to catch up with the rest of the world. Diversity brings great things. If you think they’re only being hired because of their skin color, you need to take a nice long look at yourself. That’s just the opinion of this old fart.
