Feedback on the IPAD/Veeva for "detailing"
- too small
- content isn't formatted for the screen (too much in a small space)
- too cumbersome (locked out while in conversation).
Ipads are great for presentations when done right - Merck / Veeva is wrong & useless on every level.
Here is how it works at Merck:
Some Ivy League DoucheBag develops and sells something like Veeva into Merck, celebrating as big a win as possible, that an 800 lb. gorilla Fortune company has bought into their idea.
The nitwit at Merck who was the decision maker, sells it to their boss in the hopes that said nitwit will look like the most valuable, awesome, savior in the history of the company. After all, they are the genius that grabbed the opportunity to absolutely transform the sales force and make them even more "awesome" and effective.
For a period of several months prior to release, the new "soup de jour" will be name dropped constantly as the best innovation since detailing began, and the hype machine goes into full effect up to launch.
The tool itself is always great on paper and absolutely dreadful in the real world. The training and certification of reps happens, which is usually anxiety inducing a great waster of time & money.
The launch and roll out happens, and inevitably this new "breakthrough tool" turns out to be a complete turd in the real world, that the reps quickly discard, because of the futility and lack of time to utilize.
Eventually, the new whizzbang soup de jour falls by the wayside and is discarded, until the next Ivy League douchebag sells the next big breakthrough into Merck, a company with so much spare cash, they don't know what to do with it...
And the seasons, they go round and round...and the painted ponies go up and down...
Be well all ye' merckoids...
