If you are in good standing and doing what you are paid really good money to do then what are you worried about? Most employers know where their employees are during the day dont they?
Sounds like someones PART TIME job is coming to an end if they do not actually start working FULL TIME for which they are so generously (too a fault I might add) compensated for...well no more mid day shopping or work out or afternoon playtime

HA!! Shire has done so many illegal things in the past and escaped the actions they deserve. This is no different. You might want to quit bitching and get to work!!
The stupidity shared on this site is criminal sometimes. If you think someone at Shire is going to track your every move, and thus attempt to fire or discipline you accordingly without your consent, you're correct it's illegal. (Not that it couldn't or wouldn't be done). But what will be done is now that we have to get signatures at every office we visit, they will all be time stamped. If all of your signatures are extremely early in the day that may look suspicious, especially considering that we are only supposed to see our providers once or twice. In order to drive new business, I'm sure they'll expect a full day. Fewer calls to be in call plan adherence means that they HAVE to expect us to be doing something else with our time.
I know this sounds ridiculous, but trust me. You'll all hear about it in a couple of weeks.
I know for certain that my manager will watch our every move. He's one of the few old Shire RDs left in the west and he's a bully micromanager right out of the Harry Painter school of management. 8:30-5:00 m effer!

This is true. They are going to request a signature for any kind of resource left which they are going to expect on every call. This is why so many NP were added as targets. They will be allowed to sign for these materials. Shire will say its because of sunshine laws and tracking amounts given to an office. It will come out at the meeting.
So the goal is gonna be to get as many signatures each day as possible?? Thats childish and stupid
I know everyone is my region works from about 10am-2pm if that. Half of the time they don't leave their house. We are all all screwed!!
Other companies have gone this route. Let's pray Shire doesn't.... I can't see how anyone could think this is productive. However there are reps for other companies out there now that don't give selling or the patient a second thought because they are worried about running around to get enough signatures to keep their jobs.
