Intuitive Culture

<

Intuitive has an opening in my area due to promotion. I know the rep. He’s a good guy and has been with them for almost 10 years. It seems like a pretty stable situation. On the other hand, I know other people (that I respect) who say that the culture is still toxic.

Intuitive has always had a reputation for having a hard-driving, high-burnout sales organization, but the recruiter is telling me this has changed in recent years. Truth usually lies in the middle...any feedback from current reps???

I think the culture can vary from region to region and is largely influenced by the area VP and can be pushed down to managers via director. Some areas are for the better with good balanced management leadership and some still have an old school intuitive, churn and burn, never good enough with a ‘you should always be stressed’ management style.
With that said, I would encourage anyone to take an opportunity at Intuitive. If you should fall into a good leadership area you can have a fulfilling and rewarding career at Intuitive. If you fall into the latter, you will still grow as a professional sales representative and really have limitless career opportunities. Intuitive experience does empower you with confidence (that creates arrogance and cockiness in some unfortunately) as well as exposure to multiple clinical specialties and a capital component. A couple years of Intuitive experience will allow you to get interviews at most any medical device opportunity and most likely your career after will offer an upgrade with work life balance, potential for the same or better pay and an ability to navigate any type of culture with ease.
