Interviews in Dallas

Sounds like they are so scattered with these interviews. I have received all my calls either very late in the evening or on the weekends. Everyone seems confused, rushed and disorderly. Is this the shape of things to come?????

This is the shape of things that are today. Most people who have been with the company will privately tell you that this is a big pharma shit show and they will be out of here as soon as their initial stock options vest this December 2015. The sales simulation is a role play like primary care 101.

What is the rush to interview the FDA review date is 4 months away !

The morons think by "pre-conditioning the marketplace" that gains an advantage. In reality, it makes things much much worse. Physicians are busy and don't want reps coming in that can't talk about a new product. They will be angry and tell you to leave and not to come back until you have a new product.
Also remember, this is a hire at risk. If the product isn't FDA approved or is delayed, you lose.

I have been in pharma for over 12 years and the entire interview was ridiculous. Role play was like being back at my first training class and the people already w/Regeneron grill you on why you want leave your current company and everyone I met just started in the last few months themselves. Combine this with a company like Sanofi being involved and I took a pass, maybe this will be great but it will be a roll of the dice.

100% agree you just become a pest to the office

Agreed! Imagine the shit show of 3 companies (Amgen,REGN, and Merck) all vying for the same physician time! And with Sanofi Reps too!!LOL I took a pass. I interviewed with a DM in the NYC area who never sold!! He background is in corporate finance and never managed a sales team or held the bag and he is the DM. Obviously he knew the right people. I don't have the patience of explaining to him how to sell, how to plan, managed care and whats going on in accounts. So Ridiculous

That's a really good idea to have a DM in the largest market in the country without sales experience.

Those already scheduled interviews ---> is there a hire date and training scheduled date discussed yet? For OP above asking about why hiring and 4 months ---> yes correct and scheduled date 7/24/2015 but product is being fast tracked which means faster approval date which means superior data found for priority review. Sell is not going to be pretty. Insurance companies are going to do everything to avoid covering which means doctors are going to be difficult to even prescribe and so many other options. Will take a rep that has a back bone a used to this type of difficult sell if you can even get in to discuss. ;)

Regardless what anyone says, there are no guarantees. Even a drug with priority review can be delayed or request another study etc. This is a hire at risk. Personally, I decided to drop out this morning as I did speak with an Eylea rep and it wasn't a positive call. Also, the market will be saturated with so many similar drugs and there are more divisions selling this drug than I realized. Simply put, the bonuses won't be too great considering there will be so many reps selling this with somewhat overlapping territories. I found the manager to be extremely arrogant and it doesn't seem to be my type of working environment. I think it will be an average pharmaceutical gig.

Yes does anyone have clarification around interviews in Dallas? Phone screen, then two different trips to Dallas for f2f? Seems a little redundant but that's what the recruiter's email stated.

Wow!? Here's a classic example of misinformation. The 4 months prior to launch hire is actually rather a late start with onboarding requiring 4-6 months at minimum. Amgen has had these folks in place since the early fall. The FDA review was fast tracked to a PDUFA date in late July but not because of superior data, which Ali has not demonstrated over Evol, but because of the $64MM voucher Regeneron/Sanofi payed the FDA. Had they not of done this then the PDUFA would have been scheduled for November 2015. MDs are spilt on if they're excited or not but all say that the value of these meds will be known only after the outcomes data is presented and that is still 2-3 years away. Look at what happened to Zetia and Vytorin 7-8 years ago with their lack of outcomes data only to find out just last year that there is a benefit. Risky yes, exciting...well that depends on your age.

I know how interviews typically go. I have live interview in Dallas. Is it with the manager ONLY or are there multiple people? Do they ask you to walk them through your brag book or is it mainly questions about "Tell me a time when........" and "Give me an example of...." in STAR format? They want biologic (Enbrel, Humira) experience and what else??

The role play is fucking retarded. They have you leave the room right after your resume review with the panel. They tell you to come back in after 30 seconds or so, then enter the room as if you are entering a doctors office. They are too stupid to give you the heads up that you may want to leave the room with your study. I was told by the third party company that I would have to go down the hallway for the simulation. Totally unorganized! When I entered the room, I had to dig through my bag to find the clean version, which of course fucked up the beginning of my presentation. I found out yesterday that I did not get the position, but I have to say that I almost and should have canceled the flight to Dallas. Once I realized that the FAS position pay was a joke, I had no interest in the sales job. I wouldnt have taken it. Good luck to the sorry fuck that has to work for these unorganized and clueless douche bags. Every question I asked the panel was answered with a "we cannot disclose that information at this time" , "we have not finalized that yet" , and "we are still working on that". Talk about a cluster fuck! Dont take this as a rant from someone pissed that I didnt get the job. I would have not accepted it if I was offered the position.

Oh is that why you had to leave the room? I did the same thing. I was wondering why I had to take a break and re enter the room alone. So with a mega launch on the way, they are worried about the proper etiquette of how to make an entrance. This makes me dislike them even more. Pitiful asses...the whole panel of them. The STAR questions were ridiculously shallow and vague as well. Could tell my panel had no group dynamics & very little previous interviewing skills, if any. Good luck to you in your career search. I am CERTAIN there is something better for you out there.
