Interviewing and coming from medical sales

I'm interviewing with Genoptix and am coming from OR device sales with an income of $140k-$220k per year. I'm looking for a new job, but the posts on here make the company seem horrible, especially now that Novartis is the parent. What is the realistic income potential 1st and 2nd year? I understand a weak guarantee is offered 1st year. What about base salary ranges, can you push them higher to say, $75k base? Can top reps in the company really clear $300k? Finally, what's the car situation, an allowance with a gas card? How about the culture, is it mostly girls like the pharma companies or all guys like the medical device companies? I know these are a ton of questions at once. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

The company is not horrible but I would stay in device. Once you get out it is very hard to get back in. Stick it out until you land a territory with Medtronic or whoever. What are you running from? Bad manager? This had great earning potential but those days are over. Just my 2 pennies.

How much are sales reps making 1st and 2nd years?

It has changed so much in the last 14 months I wouldnt feel comfortable with any guesses...and anybody who does is just guessing. Negotiate the highest base possible on your experience and dont plan on anything after the bridge...can you live with that number?
