Have an interview, but after reading some of the threads was wondering if it's worth my time. Is Novartis soon to have big layoffs? Only serious, honest replies please.

Dude, get out of pharma and go get a real sales job, or just any real job.

Pharma is Phantasy and the dream's in its final phase.

U going to wake up and get kicked in the head like thousands of others who were addicted to being overcompensated for being koolaid drinking cheerleaders.

But hey step right up and go get yer job with novartis, why should you be any different than the other losers!? Just be sure u can look urself in the mirror and respect yourself. HIGHLY DOUBTFUL!

Wow. Did someone piss in your cornflakes this morning? I guess you're not really happy being at Novartis? Maybe because you are not good at what you do, don't make quota, and possibly on PIP?

This answer is as serious and honest as it gets: Novartis is toxic. Management is out of touch with reality, and they constantly lie. Nobody I've ever dealt with at headquarters knows their head from their ass and at this point EVERYONE is trying to justify their job to ensure they keep it when the next axe falls (which will be sometime this year but they are lying about that too). I would imagine this place is really no different than any other big pharma company. Just bear in mind you may be out of a job sooner than later. I can't believe this shit hole is even hiring. Good luck.

I would not seek employment at Novartis. I have worked for several other companies before coming to Novartis about 5 years ago. I have never in my blife worked for a company that twists so many words and does not tell the truth about what's going on. It's difficult to work for a company that you can't trust and you really don't know if you will have a job tomorrow. I'm tired of hearing that this is the industry that we live in. The fact is that there are other pharma companies that have taken more accountability and responsibility and although there may be some jobs lost, these other companies do not have the large panic and constant reminder that you're completly replaceable and that you are not valued.

I would go just about anywhere else.

I could not agree more. They pay relatively well, but your life will be miserable. Micromanagement, flexible though unrealistic goals, mixed messages, fear and intimidation, insecurity. Don't join, it's not worth it. The next big layoffs will be end of June.

I have to echo this response. Everything is chaotic and everyone is in CYA mode. You can almost be guarateed that Novartis will do anything and everything to have a person quit. Micromanagement is terrible. You almost have to ask for permission to go to the bathroom. And if you are looking for direction in your job? The best response you will probably get is to just sell the product. No real coaching. That's because the managers are drinking the Kool-Aid and could care less if you are stressing. Stay away from this company. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I love my job and the pay and benefits are incredible. But why would anyone in their right mind come to a company about to put time stamps and hourly wages on the sales team? Especially when this lunacy and total devaluation of the sales rep job is being driven by............. the sales reps. A big collection of stupid, short sighted, and old school approach here!

how did the interview go? When I had mine, people were babbling clueless stuff, got the impression the were just hanging in and milking Danny; HR was reading from power-point slides. Each time I asked them a question, they read the stupid script again. Tell us how it went. For heaven's sake do not take the job but enjoy the animals at the interview zoo. Never saw so many brainless puppets in Prada.

RUN!!! Novartis laid off 1,400 in December. This was just the first wave. Second will be here soon!! Diovan is generic in less than a year and nothing to replace it! Docs won't use combos of Tekturna cause they know it does not work!!!

Dont get fooled by long term incentives which will vest in 3 yrs. As stated earlier your life will be miserable. Those 3 years will feel like 6 and you will be counting the days to your one year anniversary so you wont have to return your sign on bonus.

You get a salary, bonuses, a car, gas, insurance, 401k and benefits. Unemployment is 9%. Gas is nearly $4 a gallon. Why wouldn't you take a job if it's offered to you? Give me a break.
