Amgen pays terrible starting salaries. You won't start above 120 K. You get a car and you get a tracking device on the car. This is a serious reply. You may be able to get 125K , but it will not be easy.

Their starting salaries are awful. Amgen does not pay well at all!
 




Salaries are all relative to where you live, how you live, and what kind of QOL you have w/ your position, manager, etc.. If you have a 140k base at your current job + bonus structure and your QOL is reasonable, stay put!

Tracker in the car? I laugh every time I hear that. Lies. However, you would be amazed at how your tablet and phone can track you. Way better than any kind of 'car tracker'. Your complete route for the day, where you stopped and how long, when you went in the office for how long, even where in the office you walked in your larger offices or hospital buildings, when you woke up your devices, when you last touched them.... Just do your job, make your 8 calls per day and you'll be fine- it's not rocket science.

ok bud. The entire INBU unit has geotab units installed in their cars. It tracks your speed, seatbelt usage, braking, and in the event of an accident it can recreate the incident digitally.

salary is all over the place, i know some are 140 and up, but they also have inexperienced reps at 90. Car- Subarus, rav4
 




Anyone claiming there are not car trackers is not at Amgen or is an Amgen TO bot who doesn't know a thing anyway.

Every single Amgen car in field sales comes with a geotracker that records everything for insurance purposes. It's not needed to track the rep because both the phone and iPad do that so much better. Even for the simple minded reps who leave their Amgen phone at home thinking they are so clever and use their own phone, the iPad is an outstanding and superior tracking tool. Even with location services turned off, our imbedded software allow the reps every location and action to be recorded.

About the only think dumber than a Amgen rep, is the rank and file Amgen bots we have normally working 60 hours weeks running around TO thinking they are superior. Ha. If you aren't VP or above, you are nothing.

WRONG if you turn off your iPad tracker. You don't know anything. They can't locate you without location being turned on so stop your nonsense, I don't care if they track me anyway. I do my job. I don't even think of turning of location services. They don't look into this unless they want to follow you.

MOST cars have trackers There are a few that don't that are older.

Agree.

Starting salaries are not high here. If one is at 140 K, they are not starting here at 140 K. No one starts here at 140 K. The MAX salary is about 130 and that's pushing it pretty high.

Several have taken pay cuts to come here. Don't do it. Amgen is a good company but big Pharma. Raises are 1.5 to 2%.
