i got call from a recruiter about a position with Mitek in the DC area. Can anyone tell me how the distributor is in this area? I came from copier sales and would like to make around $120k. That would be a vertical jump for me. Is this doable? Thanks. Also what benefits does this distributor offer?

Woody is a nice guy, but I heard he has recently cut commissions for his guys. As a newbe you mite make $60k and be paying 100% of your expenses. It's a good place to start and move on in two years.

That distributor has a very typical story:

One guy (name rhymes with lion) was a great rep. He was outmanned by arthrex but still has a lot of business and I knew several docs who were very loyal to him. Then they became a distributor and that good rep became a manager and lost touch with his docs. He thought he was too important to do sales and all that business disappeared.

One of his loyal docs actually told me this story was to why he doesn't use mitek anymore. I never picked the mitek guy as being too smart but the mistakes I outlined above are just so typical and so stupid it even surprised me.
