Recruiter called me today. Apparently Actavis is planning to pay big money. Decided to add btwn 50-100 headcount. They will launch Jan 1st. Bases will be $150K-$170K for reps, $200K range for managers, commensurate with experience. And they provide a company car. Bonus is yet TBD. They are gunning for dapto business.

That is totally wrong. I heard the base salaries were even higher. More like $ 175k-$190K for the reps plus company car and $60k bonus. They plan to retain about 30 of the TBMS they are getting from Durata and pay 3 months of severance to the other 70. They will then turnaround and try to hire 70 reps from Cubist. This way they can acquire an I'dales force from Durata and get to pay them severance so that they can then pay recruiters to hire the Cubist reps. It's a wonderful plan

Actavis manager, here. $170K will be the max base salary. We will offer a comprehensive and competitive package including a company car (with an SUV option). We are trying to build something special over here, and we are aggressively looking for the best ID Reps with established relationships.

Good luck with that, less than 2% of the Actavis hosp reps are making +100k, no jobs posted, very few will be posted, and ya'll are delusional. Maybe you should go run a hedge fund.
 






If $170 is a REAL number I'll leave in a heartbeat! What metro areas are you hiring for? I passed on a few opportunities but at that number it's very tempting. Any insight on how Actavis will deal with Cubist "non-compete" BS and subsequent lawsuit? If you have a solid strategy in place you will definitely get more people. Please keep us posted!

You just nailed it. It will be tough for the Cubist people due to the non-compete. Most of the Durata people will be kept on except for the ones they want to get rid of. Maybe 70+ from Durata. Durata people are being held tight to their non0compete especially when it come to Cubist and Med Co.

170k ROFLMAO no freakin way ! total BS that is like a recruiter saying you will make 300k selling compound creams .
 






Doesn't matter if they offer you $200K..you can't leave…. they will sue you. everyone that left for mdco was sued. All of them. second suit filed thanksgiving. They need people to stay to finish the sale… and sure as hell don't want you competing against them… just cattle… use… means to an end… just business people.
