If your talented, stay away

When I started working at Elanco, friends would tell me that Elanco doesn't know how to keep talent around. They don't know how to reward talent. Now I see it.

If there was a reason why Elanco stock doesn't perform, it's because elanco rewards the weak and lazy. They can't maintain talent.

I can provide some examples of how:

Elanco concluded that it would be in their best interest that instead of rewarding top performers with a raise at the end of 2023, they would take their merit increase and level up the lower paid employees. Excuse me?

In Q1 2024 instead of rewarding the people who hit 100%, they made it all equal and rewarded the people who hit 75%. Lowering the bar.
Awards trip comparison for top tier talent
Zoetis travels to St Kit's for a week
Boehringer goes to Barcelona for 8 days
Elanco? They take us to California for 4 days
You can't compare us. Now they want to pay us $5000 instead of a trip? That's degrading.

The most obvious way to look at how a company rewards talent, is do they stay? In the last 16 months you let three superstar Elanco women walk out your door. Julia 15 years here, Laura 12 and Courtney 19.
elanco doesn't know how to reward top talent and they can't keep them. Never have, never will.

So to clarify, is this a top female talent issue or anyone with talent issue?

You listed off 3 recognizable senior level, top talent females who departed. Is that to imply the senior level top talent men are sticking around and this is a gender issue?

I am not trying to imply that is what you are stating, truly just asking based on your examples (possibly there are/have been no "top talent" men in your opinion).

Don’t worry I don’t see anyone of “talent” going to Elanco. They have little competitive edge as many of their key products fall into completely saturated markets. As far as trips and quotas who the hell wants to go on a trip with their co-workers? I’d take the cash… you’d likely get fired for falling below 100% at Zoetis/BI.

I wish the original poster would shut--up! This has been known forever, sorry you are just realizing it.The real winners around here are the people ranked 100-200. It's why we call our group the middle of the roadsters. It's the best place for all of us. We look at all these people ranked high, leading placements, etc..."your" killing yourself for not much more money than we make.

To your point on the trip...the survey results tell you all you need to know. 70% of the employees would rather take 5,000 vs spending any time with leadership. Especially the parvo king Bobby M.
