Valeant does not do research. They do not even do development. Valeant knows it has too many over qualified PhDs doing work that a person with a Master's or Bachelor's degree can do.

If you have not been labelled for deletion this year they will certainly find you in 2014. Run for you life. Get a new job as fast as you can.

It is harsh but true. If a company is only focused on manufacturing improvements and not concerned about marketing or research then the employees adapted to manufacturing will survive and the others will be unfit in the new environment.

Unless you want to pay a PhD to work on the contact lens assembly line it is the end of the road for most of the researchers at B+L. Valeant is laying off as the projects complete as described in the last Democrat and Chronicle news articles on the layoffs so expect more dedicated yet overqualified people to bite the dust in the near future.
 






Sad but true.
Rochester folk are so out of touch and sadly mid management there have their heads up their asses.it has not changed because valeant have a bigger plan. It does not involve keeping a herd of dinosaurs on the payroll. Rochester better shape up (will not happen) or it will go the same path as Kodak.
B&L will survive. Just not with Rochester calling the shots.

if you believe that Tampa D&R is safe from the Valeant axe for plant support needs you must not know that the vast majority of plant support is supplied by the Tampa plant personnel..

BIG **LIKE** This company would've survived longer if Rochester had gone by the wayside 10 years ago. Those overpaid, non-value adding suits were doing nothing but sucking out indirect overhead dollars for a very very long time. The people on the front line, at the customer and manufacturing level won't even notice Rochester being gone.

Rochester EGO was what drove B&L into the ground. If sometime around 2001 folks would've learned the phrase "Roch......what?" B&L might still exist today as its own company.

Whoever posted this ought to be a director or VP. Maybe clean house and get rid of some of the phantom positions in Regulatory and Quality.
 












Lets forget the insults.

2014 will see the end of D&R. If you have an alternative take it. A lot of people are willing to move State to get away from this misery pit. I'm getting ready to leave soon. D&R is toast.
