Slow down a little bit there stud. How hard can it be to develop sales & relationships when you have no direct competition? You might want to check that ego until you've actually won a few head to head battles with multiple competitors. Maybe you'll get that opportunity in the future (I'm not sure if there are any other robotic platforms out there) and we can see how great you really are. The mark of a successful salesman is not how he performs in a favorable environment, but how he can overcome one where there's multiple competitors, no contracts, hostile administration, few relationships, etc, etc.

And if cutting edge technology like the daVinci is to gain market share by training obgyns with poor to mediocre lap skills on a procedure that can already be done off-robot by a substantial percentage of surgeons already (in less time to boot), then maybe you should be worried about long term viability as opposed to how everyone's jealous of you.

PS: Your comment about knowing anatomy was gay. Although a rep should know it, rarely is that knowledge used unless of course you're training one of those aforementioned sub-par surgeon technicians. It sounds like you may be one of those delusional reps that actually thinks he's a doctor because you spend so much time around them. You're not.

WAKE UP DUDE , the only value we have as reps is our relationships. The product widget what ever will sell it self. So you are earning what 125-150 plus some options? Bank it because you are young and stupid, to posture as you are . Sounds like your identity is your job. The funny thing is I sell alot of ancilary stuff for the robots , and feel bad for you guys since you have to be there to document your cases for the month. I am earning money doing what you wish you could do . Lets see, spending time with my family and attending the little things you can't . For instance voluntering at school , coaching , lets not forget picking them up and dropping them off. Oh and I love watcking pokemon at 3 and then I carly at 4 with the kids.

You are an idiot. I left ISRG for more money with a different company. ISRG hires a lot of pharma reps because they can mold them the way ISRG wants. Next CAST class see if you can find reps from top companies, very minimal. Lots of EES people and tons of pharma DM. And no, I never sold pills and came from Medtronic. Don't think you are all that buddy. Remember humility! And make sure you take feedback well. Relationships my ass, all the hospitals HATE Intuitive. No doubt great technology, but there are tons of companies to make easier $200k.
