Icahn WINS!!! Thank God

He only won one board seat so I don't know how much of a difference that will make...

(Reuters) - Billionaire investor Carl Icahn appears to have secured one of the four board seats he sought at drugmaker Forest Laboratories Inc (FRX.N), according to an early tally of shareholder votes at the company's annual meeting on Wednesday.

Forest said Icahn nominee Pierre Legault, a former executive at several big drugmakers, was likely to win a seat on the 10-member board following a bitter proxy battle. He would replace current director Dan Goldwasser, who chairs the compensation committee.

"Shareholders are sending the message loud and clear that they're fed up," Daniel Ninivaggi, one of the Icahn nominees, said at the Forest meeting in New York.

Not the clear victory Soloman would have liked. However, Ichan only got one seat. 10% of the influence vs Soloman's 90%. Still a long way to go for team Ichan to cause a real problem.

First off... 1 seat will not allow Icahn the power to sell forest. And neon who calls this company a pos is more than likely a rep who couldn't cut it and is disgruntled. The weak links have a way of dissolving.

Forest ONLY keeps the weak links. Anyone worth their salt leaves the company after a year or two to greener pastures. Forest is filled with used car reps and has been for several years. The last successful launch they had was almost a decade ago.

Yes Mister Smart. That was profound. Now as opposed to stating a bunch of opinion, tell me how a seat representing 10% of the group could overpower the other 90%? That is the question here. Ichan got one seat. A victory that, at this point, has no real influence.

Ichan is relentless. The result here is that Howard will lose. Do your reading and look at how Carl entered Imclone, Biogen and Genzyme. He started with one seat, gained more later. Howard is toast if Carl follows the same playbook as he did with these companies.

Ichan is relentless. Howard will lose eventually. Look at CI's track record with Imclone, Genzyme and Biogen. He starts with one seat and gains more later. This is why he stated FRX as a victory. If he follows his biotech playbook with FRX then Howie is toast.

Working at forest is a nightmare, document, document, document..the VPs and hr in jersey city and NYC are meeting to clean house..restructure..it will be called. The field will get it to. The sr management in jersey city is incompetent when it starts alot of good people will lose their jobs because we have alot of really bad executive directors and VPs, who do not understand the business. Keep documenting your conversations, interactions with sr management...when they come at us, we are coming back at them...
