Ian Read goes bye bye

Think he did a better job than his predecessors. Had to manage through some challenging times for PFE and industry, namely no revenue growth. The pipeline takes awhile to mature and it seems it is better now than when he started by a decent amount. Won't really know until he is gone I suspect. Similar to Ed Pratt - he did some good investments which benefited PFE after he left.

Just one more failure in a long line of failures.

He was a f-ing idiot who spoke the talk of evolving healthcare, but failed to restructure or align Pfizer to succeed for the future. Albert was right in that he was overpaid for what he brought to the table in driving top line growth or adapting to todays changing healthcare dynamics.

Ian wanted to leave a while ago and was talked into staying. Not weird or odd. Does anyone understand a word that Albert says? He was leading us in vaccines and I got about every 4th word.

same field structure for years and years, managers with nothing to do, not enough span, no managed care access.

do u find it odd or shocking that he stepped down?

Lets see, he couldn't get one M&A deal accomplished! It took 15 years to get the stock price back to pre-Pharmacia levels! Topline growth has stalled and a yet to be delivered pipeline that is yet to be embraced by payers is still a huge gamble! Internal operation and dynamics within PIH and PEH are dysfunctional. Frank is still here, but I bet he's next! Its the same group of familiar recycled leaders who don't have a clue! Ditto to the board, who see the writing on the wall.

thats not a very high bar, his predecessor was the former general counsel for a fast food restuarant, on top of being an egomaniac nut
