I just made the other thread about the complaining, this is a post I will use as an example. $150,000 a year in PHARMA. From what I understand the job isn't hard at all, but the Managers are mean and micromanage you. Yet you just "can't do it anymore"? Can't do WHAT anymore exactly, because you guys said you don't do anything?
When I was working at Subway as a Teen and in my early 20's, I got yelled at, micro-managed, and the whole nine yards. But guess what? I was making just above minimum wage.
I'm really trying to understand this, maybe you guys are lying because you don't have to show your identities here or something? But this makes absolutely no sense. No money isn't EVERYTHING but the things you are complaining about comes with every single job in the marketplace, that's why it makes absolutely no sense to me.
First, nobody is making 150k, unless you are in specialty and in a top 5-10 percent territory.
My guess is the average pharma. rep makes about a 65 base, 15k bonus, so about 80k all day. Not bad.
Second, its all about the manage, always. 50% are terrible, 30% are unbearable, 10% are nasty, and then you have about 5-10% that are angels. So, the odds of having a good manager in pharma is not very good odds.
Finally, this industry is in the bottom 20% of all industries to work for, for intelligent white collar professionals, because you have no creativity during your work day, and because you have to deal with weird doctors all day, not fun. Add the 90% of idiot managers today, and you have a mess...forgot to add the instability and crazy counterparts as well.
As for Subway, we all have had harder jobs than that in high school and college. Not sure how the F you were micromanaged on making sandwiches. Sounds weird. I guess you are a softie at heart....a perfect fit for his industry....which, and I know I am right on this, is the softest sell in the world, and an industry where weak people can ride the coat tails of strong sales people for a long, long, long, time before they are exposed as terrible sales professionals.
