I need help understanding

This is a sincere plea for help and advice.

I am only with DS for a few years now and it is early in my career and I need help understanding something. I was always taught that integrity and hard work is what matters most in a job. As a foreign born person who believes that as this is what I was taught, I cannot understand how some of our senior leaders can continue to be allowed to make terrible decisions, lie to us and the company yet remain in their high-level jobs. In particular, I am thinking about Gormley who has a track record of really messing things up with the FDA and our filings and then lying about it, a person who headed up the global marketing department who was inept and earned respect from no one and a legal department that appears to forget that it is us who pay their salary yet never seek a way to help us. Finally, I have no idea what KK & RL are doing in the US as none of their decisions make any sense whatsoever. But maybe I am missing something.

It seems to me that the people in Japan are smart and honest yet allow this to go on. I am seriously asking......how does this happen and why do they continue to be rewarded with big jobs? I know that I need to leave DS (Or be asked to leave) but I want to learn from this experience. Please help.

Well, you need to remember that after the downfall of the economy from the mortgage crisis, not ONE single CEO went to jail. Not one! Total scumbags that knew they were screwing over most Americans and relied on the taxpayer to bail them out. These guys and girls take care of their own and our government has and will continue to allow it. Golden parachutes for being a complete failure. That's why industries like big pharma continue to donate millions to both political parties and lobby to keep things the way they are.
