But this lay off has confirmed the IQ of HR here.

I called to ask a few simple questions regarding my severence and the person in HR royally screwed up and inserted their foot in their mouth.

It started with simply having an attorney who is a friend of mine look over my severence and clarify some things with me.

He said it was standard and the normal documentation. He only had a few very simple questions that I was instructed to clarify. Upon calling HR, my story took a drastic twist when the HR person totally let thy guard down. When they said it...they knew it!!

Now, nobody from HR will answer my initial two simple questions!

Oh...all of this is documented!

So...on top of being neglected regarding my two very simple questions, I now have learned some very interesting and unexpected information!

First, you worry about your own self!

Second, when the ball is on the tee and it is just sitting there for you to knock it out of the park...take advantage. Their are certain people in this company that have continually ran over people and bullied them around. They have a track record of it. I will seize this non compliant matter and huge mistake because certain people need to learn their lesson from years of underhanded and non compliant behavior!

You do not know anything. Even those of us that went through it dont know anything about all the processes from start to finish! Give it up. Nothing non-compliant or unethical went down. Give it a rest. Some of us are really happy to stay at Shire and believe in the company. Shocking to you I know.

Keep drinking the kool-aid by being a "yes" employee.

Bottom line, I'd love to still be at Shire. I loved my RD, co-workers, and my docs. I loved my job as a whole. Shire has a bunch of great people...people that I'm grateful to have met.

However, there will always be a few bad apples at every company. When you have proof of non compliant processes then those bad apples need to learn their lesson...especially when they have a repeated pattern of basically screwing people over!

I'm glad you got to stay. I wished I could say the same. Good Luck in your career at Shire.
