I don't understand the negativity

In a time where the unemployment rate is at 9% and 6 figure jobs are scarce, why people come on here and complain about this job? You have a job that if your out of your house by 830-9 am you should be able to finish your day by 2 or 3 pm. How many 6 figure jobs offer those hours? And that btw does not mean your a lazy rep. This job can be done in 5 hours and that is not a bad thing. I understand layoffs are possible but let's be realistic and talk in the present tense. Currently we are employed and have a job that pays well and does not demand 60 hour work weeks. If more layoffs come I for one will not be one of those " I hope I get the severance because I want to jump ship" people.
 








Now just imagine what could happen if just half the sales force took the initiative to work a FULL day! C'mon everyone. Give it a try.

Announcing to the world that you gat paid $100K for working 4-5 hours a day will not help your cause when the folks from Osaka start looking for ways to cut overhead.....and they ARE looking right now.

Wait a second your calling me an idiot for stating the obvious? Anyone who works in pharma (managers and execs who once were reps) knows that you can be successfull in this job without working 8 hour days. If you think for one second your dm thinks you work 9-5 your crazy! And if you are working 9-5 you are doing something wrong. I've been in this industry for 10 years and not once have I finished the year below my goal attainment. I didn't "announce" or reveal any big secret that anyone with half a brain didn't already know. This is a fantastic job with great benefits, tons of autonomy, and if you do your job efficiently you can make lots of money without having to work 60 hours a week.........all facts.

Nobody said anything about putting in 60 hours. Try putting in 40. Just once.

No you didn't really "announce" anything. You simply validated what senior leadership at Takeda already believes which is the fact they can bust us all down to part time contract reps at half pay and still get the same result. Thanks douchebag.

Are you kidding me? All senior leadership cares about is representing to Japan the illusion that we will somehow maintain profitability after Actos goes generic. They don't give a crap about us representatives. If they had to cut us down to contract reps, they wouldn't need the big salaries or so many of the upper middle and top managers. How could they build those little empires in managed markets, marketing, field sales, medical services (CSO's are such a great asset to have in the field - NOT!)...
