Excellent job description. And would you say that Six Sigma is fulfilling all the goals set in your job description? This is not a question of your worth, but of the worth of Six Sigma. The Six Sigma program that Lilly uses was developed by sales consultants who wanted to capture the Lilly account. It over promises and actually add barriers to getting things done at Lilly. It consumes massive resources while delivering little to no benefit. But management has been convinced that this shiny package can save Lilly.

It is all copy and paste

That is what you wish you were doing. What you actually are doing is performing as the job-cutting hatchet man for HR and Finance.

Pharmaceutical companies are easy prey for all kinds of chivaneries because of product cycle is long and risky. Just as desperate people fall for snake oil, desperate companies in need of revenue ... ...

Any way it is all shareholders money. It takes 10 years to launch a new product, enough time for management to line their own pockets. A dash of snake oil, a bit of magic, Geez, what is the big deal

AND THE NEW DRUGS ARE WHERE? You should be BLACKBELTED across the face and head.

And instead, we get a crippled IT organization, research that is packing its bags for sunny Quandong Provice and removal of the water coolers at the big "wins" of Six Sigma. Way to go! On the other hand, you did help shove 5500 people out the door so that should be good for something.

Go back into the newspaper archives of 2002-2003. Eli Lilly and Company Corporation was granted tremendous tax breaks to hire 8000 new employees in the State of Indiana.

They did it for the money. They took the money, probably in the several billion range, and then let go of those who did not suck up with the proverbial blinders.

The exact opposite mentality is required for inventiveness. First of all, honesty is #1. First requirement. Beyond that, hey just have some "trust" like John says.... what a lie.
