serious question here

did you take all your vacation and sick time off before giving notice? is there a "best" way to resign to get all your time off and not leave any on the table?

i also heard that if you do resign and give two weeks notice they have to pay you for the following two weeks even though you may be asked to stop working that day, true?

vacation time is payable.
sick time/floating days are not.

If you give 2 weeks notice, they will typically honor that even when (not if) they ask you to stop working that day but you should definitely put your notice in writing to HR as well as your DM.

So the best way to get all your time is take your sick days and get paid out on your vacation and notice.

i took all vacation float etc.....above poster is correct..they will typically close you out immediately. i will nt miss texts on sundays for a monday morning conference call....who does that...seriously!!!!

Who'd you get a job with?

well i dont want to be too specific, however, it is out of pharma...still outside sales....no car but car allowance....and definately ability to make money. i actually was surprised how dificult the whole process was to get in but thru a friend of a friend etc....i got interview and the job....thank god!!!!! so like i said sometimes you really have to network with everyone you know.

Me too. I just started looking 3 weeks ago and have already had 6 interviews. It is amazing how much having pharma on your resume can hurt you. Most sales jobs think we can't sale and all we are is glorified caterers. Can't wait to get out of here and earn real commissions, and not have discipline threatened every week. Have been in the top 50 my whole career and still not good enough. Good luck to anyone trying to leave, do it as soon as you can.

poster 9.....good luck to you! i was getting my drug test for my new job this week and the nurse said to me that she liked her drug reps because they brought in lunches. she stated she actually liked the one better because she brought in better food!!! seriously, it was like divine intervention. im almost out but hearing that made me realize reps have zero respect and getting out into another whole other industry is the right thing for me to do.
