Ohhhhh Yeaahhhhhhh Brooooothhaaaaaaa! It's time (September) to sit by the phone! We DON'T need everyone in the room after the merger, or without the merger. Layoffs are coming!! BJ knows it, and Ramona couldn't show her face today because she's busy signing all the layoff paperwork in advance.

Really this one is a stretch. Shire’s GI Specialty team is tiny, new drugs coming and SubQ launch I just can’t see this playing out. As for the CNS side probably cut in half with the new combined team will be half and half.

Not a stretch at all. This integration will see many many Takeda people cut as Takeda had to promise to keep many Shire people in place as part of the deal. This also is the easiest time to get rid of a bunch of sales people under the guise of the merger. Shire has a market cap twice that of Takeda. If you think they are simply being acquired with a whimper, you are living in a dream world. Get your resume ready and get moving.

I agree that many folks will be gone. Pretty sure Deerfield will be wiped out as Boston is the future for both companies. GI Specialty at Takeda really has no real overlap at Shire was my main point. As for the rest to avoid litigation ZS/third party will handle most of it. This will end up being terrible for both companies as cost savings need to be made quickly.
